Use an Animation as a Skin

You can even use an animation for the skin as well. There, I don't mean the animated buttons some programs have. I mean a fully animated background to the window. It could be water, moving trees, whatever you like, even a movie. Needs to be a bit of course to make the text easier to read.

Animations behind the bouncing balls

You can also use animations in other parts of the program. E.g. play animations behind the bouncing balls as they bounce - visuals only but you can also add subtitles for some videos - watch movies as you practice e.g. speed drills with the metronome. Makes sense if e.g. main aim of metronome practice is just to keep your fingers very supple and smooth in their action or to push your speed boundaries etc.

For some pro musicians this is a "killer feature" of the metronome, so might as well mention it here in case you are one of them :).
